Just what we needed.
5/5 Star Upfront Reviews - August 2025
Well. What can we say? Aldersyde was such a wonderful home away from home. We walked in to a warm and cosy house. It didn't have that holiday let feel. You felt you were being welcomed into a home. The house was clean and tidy, had everything we needed for a comfortable 2 week stay. The beds were really comfortable with lovely bed linen, plenty of loo roll which is a rarity in holiday lets and ample cleaning products for the two weeks. Lovely, well appointed bathrooms. The pool room was great for the teenagers. The games room entertained on the odd soggy morning. The location was perfect, near to the pier for fishing (lovely mackerel for tea as a result) and great walks from your doorstep. We've fallen a little bit in love with the area! We definitely stay at Aldersyde again. We didn't want to leave.

We stayed for a week to celebrate papas 70th birthday. Some very warm days enjoying the garden and the sound of the stream. Papa loved going out on his boat. Lovely part of the world! House is beautiful, very clean, feels like home. Thank you

Thank you so much for a beautiful family holiday, treasured memories made by all of us. 4 year old Jenny's favourite memory was jellyfish spotting- whilst florence our 16 year old Jack Russell enjoyed napping on the rug. I'm sure this is a holiday we will remember for years to come, I'm sure we will visit again too! Thank you again.

Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful house. Grand views, smashing pool tournament, therapeutic hot tub, tasty barbeque, brillant views!! Cosy sleeps! Felt so homely. Very posh cooking appliances. A great time was had by all and we hope to return at some point. It was so good to get some peace and quiet. Back to the city now. Cheers!

This is our 2nd visit to Aldersyde. Lovely big house, superb views and close to lovely coastal walks for our 2 dogs. Katie is very welcoming and leaves lovely touches like wine, tablet and fresh flowers on arrival. House is very clean and has lots of extras like games and books. Brilliant base for touring area, safe garden for dogs and children.

Very impressed with the facilities and location. We have stayed in many Hotels around the world, but as a self catering unit this ticked all the right boxes in comfort and speciousness

Beautiful house in beautiful location
5/5 Upfront Reviews - September 2022
My family and dogs had a fantastic week in this gorgeous house. We went in late September and the weather was glorious- perfect for taking in the sites and dog walking. We took practically everything we needed so didn’t need to use the local shops for much but they were well stocked if you did need or forget anything. Can’t wait to go back next year.

A beautiful house in a beautiful location

This is a beautiful house in a lovely loch-side location. The walks in the surrounding areas are stunning and good for wildlife.

A perfect family holiday house
5/5 Upfront Reviews - August 2022
We stayed at Aldersyde for 3 weeks and could not have been happier. We arrived to find the house was beautifully clean and filled with flowers, a welcome bottle of wine on ice and some Scottish fudge!
Aldersyde is cosy and perfect for a family with children of all ages. The youngest spent all their time in the garden on the adventure park and the older children and loved the pool and table tennis. All this as well as a separate play room filled with games, puzzles, books and videos for the young ones on rainy days.
The bedrooms were cosy and comfortable and the bathrooms excellent. There was lots of cupboard space.
The kitchen had neatly everything we needed and was very easy to keep tidy. It was lovely to have the main sitting room off the kitchen so we could chat while cooking. We were lucky enough to be able to make good use of the deck and the view from here is gorgeous!
Our hosts came and gave the house a total clean and change of bed linen in the middle of our stay and once again left it looking beautifully clean and filled with flowers.
We all loved our stay at Aldersyde and were sad to leave.

Beautiful well equipped cottage

5/5 Upfront Reviews June 2022
Aldersyde is a beautiful cottage in a great location. The 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin room comfortably catered for the 7 adults that were staying there. Both the downstairs shower room and bathroom have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. Again there was plenty of kitchen, dining and living space for the 7 of us. There is a secure garden which would be perfect if you had young children or like us 2 dogs. The owners were very helpful and responsive. The review book in the house was testament to the many previous happy holiday makers who had stayed there and I would gladly return.
