5/5 Star Upfront Reviews - July 2026
This was our second visit to the cottage and we enjoyed another glorious 5 days. The cottage has everything needed for a relaxing stay. Ideally located for exploring the area, our highlight this time was Ostel beach.
5 Star Review AirBnB - July 2026
We loved our visit to this comfortable and cosy cottage. The surroundings were outstanding and it was wonderful to be amongst so much nature - we were lucky enough to see dolphins swimming in the loch one evening!
The cottage is well located to good local restaurants such as loch fyne oyster bar and inver, as well as the seafood shack in Inveraray.
We can’t wait to return!

5 Star Review AirBnB - May 2026
The cottage was lovely and cosy, warm and homely. A traditional cottage with lovely old quirky features but all the modern comforts you need. The views from the front of the cottage were amazing. If the midge isn't around you can watch the sun set behind inveraray from the Loch side seating. There are walks, castles and gardens to visit, and some great places to eat. We had a great 4 nights in the cottage.
5 Star Review AirBnB - March 2026
Blissfully calm, cosy, warm cottage. We had a wonderful restorative stay.
5 Star Review AirBnB - March 2026
What a stunning location. We loved being right beside the loch. This is what sold the cottage to us, as one member of the party had limited mobility. It was amazing to have those views outside the door. The cottage itself is very homely and we enjoyed our stay. There are improvements that could be made but it certainly has a charm.

Very good for wildlife on loch, including otters and porpoises.

A beautiful cottage in a really lovely setting.

Down a track alongside the beautiful Loch Fyne you come across the cottage. Set in a lovely and quiet setting with great views across the Loch from the beach or your own private garden seat at the shores edge. The cottage is warm and cosy and has all you need for a stay away from home.
The track continues for quite a few miles each way so great for walks with the dog.
Loved it and will be back.

The cottage was set in a lovely private location over looking the sea/loch FYNE.
It was absolutely dog friendly (but we still took throws & baby gate)
Our dog fudge is an 11 year old cocker that needs to be nosey any chance he got straight into the loch.
Would ideally recommend if want a relaxing retreat.
5 Star Review AirBnB - July 2025
We were completely relaxed in this little cottage. It is very private and has a beautiful view of the lake. The tranquility is wonderful and perfect for our 5 days!
5 Star Review AirBnB - July 2025
This is a delightful quaint cottage with lots of character, set in a beautiful peaceful location. We had our Labrador with us who loved the water and the private lanes to walk, which stretched for 5km from end to end. It had everything we needed and is well equipped. Plenty of places to explore in the area and some great eateries in Inveraray, as well as the Creggans in Strachur.

Perfect, well presented.
5 Star Review AirBnB - February 2024
We stayed for a week and really enjoyed it. The cottage is really secluded, and sits on the Loch. We spent a lot of time walking on the nearby beach, completely alone, while our dog had the best time ever. Overall would recommend and hopefully will stay again.
5 Star Review AirBnB - December 2024

We had the loveliest time at Darroch Beag. We will definitely return. The cottage was lovely and clean, very well equipped and perfect for our needs. Cosy fire for colder nights, it just had an overall cosy feel to the whole place. The location was spectacular, quiet and peaceful with very few neighbours. Our kids and dog loved the beach and we had many days out within an hours drive. Absolute gem of a place. 10 stars!

“What a wonderful setting for a cottage. The cottage serves all the needs of the holidaymaker. It was lovely to have dry weather too which allowed us to walk. We would highly recommend the cottage and would most certainly make plans to return later in the year!”

Rustic & quirky cottage in pretty location with winding stairs & cosy log fire.
Oct 2020
With panelled ceilings, winding staircase & rustic feel - cottage has fab views & walks. We were warm & comfy despite accommodation suffering ‘end of season’ blues. Tip - take a peanut feeder to see wonderful birds, red squirrels etc. Great base to explore gorgeous Scotland in its spectacular Autumn glory.
