5 Star Air BnB Review - March 2025
Rowan Cottage was superb. Cosy in the evening, and stunning views over the loch for breakfast on the terrace! An abundance of wildlife all around. Lovely welcome basket which was much appreciated!! Thankyou for an amazing stay, we couldn’t have been happier.

A great stay
5/5 Star - Air BNB Review - August 2024
We had a great stay in Rowan Cottage in the third week of August. The cottage was clean and well equipped as listed and shown in the photos, and the hosts left a nice welcome pack. The kids (9-12yrs) and our dog all settled in nicely.
The cottage is situated on the edge of a farm, with adjacent cottages with respective parking and privacy. I think we got the best view of Loch Long from where we were, and it was easy to locate from Blairmore.
We had a good time exploring nearby (Puck's Glen, Benmore Botanic Gardens) and the nearby Blairmore cafe is strongly recommended for delicious food and coffee. Although it takes a while to drive further afield the scenery is amazing and the cottage makes a good base from which to visit the likes of Oban, Inverary, and Loch Lomond for the day.
Very happy with the cottage, location and thoughtfulness of the hosts - definitely recommend to anyone interested in this region of Scotland. Note there is no fence around the garden, so keep dogs on a lead.

Lovely honeymoon stay at the cottage. An ideal base to explore the surrounding areas. The welcome produce basket & Prosecco a lovely touch.

Thank you.

Family Holiday

5/5 Star VRBO Review - August 2022

Had a brilliant time staying in this lovely property. Everything was there that was needed for our stay along with a lovely welcome basket when we arrived. It is very peaceful and still missing the great views of the Loch and countryside whilst sitting on the deck. We also did the trail biking during our stay which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Would definitely recommend staying at this property.

Picturesque & tranquil

5/5 Star VRBO Review - July 2022

Set amid stunning scenery, the property is in a great location to explore the area. We ventured into Dunoon itself, aswell as exploring Argyll’s secret coast (down to a stunning beach at Ostel Bay) & up to Lochgoilhead. The only negative for us is that we had to drive whenever we wanted to go out. If you don’t mind that though I would certainly recommend. We had a go at quad biking on-site at Quadmania, which was an amazing experience, great views and great fun for all the family! The welcome basket was a lovely touch and much appreciated too - the eggs were so tasty!

The most beautiful spot!
4.5/5 Upfront Reviews - June 2022

The cottage is in the most beautiful spot, we absolutely loved sitting out on the decking looking over the loch. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils and the dishwasher was great. The shower was good, very powerful. The sofas are not the comfiest but if the weather is dry you will probably want to sit outside on the decking anyway!
We took our two dogs and there are So many wonderful places to explore nearby (within an hour ish) including Benmore Gardens, Pucks Glen, Inveraray, Loch Lomond. The closest shops are in Dunoon which are a good 20 min drive away. There is a wonderful cafe called the Blairmore a couple of miles away - we would highly recommend.

Sept 2021

What a wonderful little gem of a cottage and the views ! Just wow. A wonderful place to recharge & not to far to visit other places such as Inverary & Oban, Oh & make sure you visit Pucks Glen, just magical. Would highly recommend

Beautiful views from lovely cottage

July 2021
Family of 4 from London visiting Scotland for first time. Argyll cottage rental and Rowan cottage owners supplied excellent directions, information and instructions for our stay. We found it easily and ate at a number of recommended local pubs and cafes. The cottage is located on a hillside with beautiful panoramic views over Loch Long. Kids loved nearby grazing sheep and huge variety of bird life. Cottage was very well equipped. Comfortable beds gave good night's sleep, large sofas for TV , kitchen had everything needed and we cooked a couple of nights. Outdoor seating on patio was much appreciated given the warm weather. We had an excellent stay.
